Community Room (A & B)Learn to play Mah Jongg, a tile-based strategy game, with this five-week instructional series, taught by RPL's own Mah Jongg maven, Alissa.
Mah Jongg is a tile-based game, generally for four players, that originated in China and has spread worldwide. It combines elements of strategy, skill, and chance. The game involves forming sets and pairs with 144 tiles, aiming to be the first to complete a specific hand as defined by a yearly card.
In this four-week series, learn all of the basics, along with helpful strategies. Gather with others to learn this challenging and fun game! Registration will sign you up for all four classes. Please note that this series is cumulative and requires attendance at all 4 sessions.
The Library will provide Mah Jongg tile sets and cards.
Priority will be given to Reading residents and to those that have not attended a Learn to Play Mah Jongg class before at RPL.
