Always wanted to learn how to sew? Now's your chance! This 1.5 hour class is for complete beginners. Learn how to use a sewing machine and create a cute fabric box--a perfect gift container for the holidays.
This class is for adults only. Registration is required. Preference is given to Reading residents. All others will be put on a waiting list.
About the instructor:
Carol Stratton began sewing at a young age with her grandmother. She worked at The Fabric Place in the Woburn Mall, and then for a wedding dress designer. Carol went on to finish her Elementary Education degree, and taught in the Stoneham Public Schools for 26 years until her retirement in 2016. After Covid, she worked at Quilters Common quilt shop in Wakefield as a supervisor during the Sit & Sew class on Monday. Carol is still an avid sewist and quilter, enjoying other needle crafts such as knitting and embroidery.
