Beauty on the Wing: Understanding the Monarch Butterfly
Special film screening and Q&A with director Kim Smith
Wednesday, November 18
2:00pm - 3:30pm
Reading Public Library
Community Room (A & B)Experience the inspirational story of a magnificent species found in our own backyards!
Follow the incredible migration journey of the magnificent monarch butterfly, through vibrant documentary footage and thoughtful discussion.
The monarch’s life story is one of nature’s most incredible examples of adaptation and survival. There are no other butterflies in the world that journey thousands of miles over such a great and vast area. Beauty on the Wing takes us from Cape Ann to Mexico in rich detail, highlighting the monarch butterfly and its importance in an increasingly imperiled ecosystem.
This special screening and Q&A is presented in partnership by the Reading Neighbors Network and the Reading Public Library, featuring documentary filmmaker, author, and environmental advocate Kim Smith.
