Community Room (A & B)Latinos Unidos en Massachusetts (LUMA) will be presenting on challenges faced in recent years, and how communities like Reading can support our Latinx neighbors.
In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, representatives from Latinos Unidos en Massachusetts (LUMA) will be joining us to discuss the unique issues that the Latinx community in Massachusetts has faced in recent years. Questions of how to support and be allies to our community members will also be addressed.
Founded in Everett in 2002, LUMA has contributed to the development of a unified Latin American community in Massachusetts, helping to determine its individual and collective future. Its declared mission is “to protect the rights, educate, organize, and empower the immigrant community.”
Registration encouraged, but not required.
