Betrayal comes in many forms. In the corporate world, there are big lies, white lies, and lies of omission. In relationships, there are cheaters, two-faced lovers and friends, as well as out-and-out family fraudsters. The more trusting the relationship, the more devastating the betrayal. What is it that causes us such a deep reaction to betrayal? Why do we relive it with such passion and intensity? Why does even the memory of a betrayal spark such feelings of shame, anger, and resentment?
In Betrayed, Dr. Elaine Eisenman and Susan Stautberg dive into over fifty true stories of betrayal to learn how to successfully handle the trauma in setbacks, overcome the urge for quick revenge, consider the possibilities of forgiveness, and most importantly, to set a positive path into the future.
Join us as author and Reading resident Elaine Eisenman discusses her book Betrayed: A Survivor's Guide to Lying, Cheating, and Double Dealing.
